My Story
Hi, I'm Cate
I am a Melbourne based artist, working from my studio in Glen Huntly.
My love of art and nature
My artworks are a reflection of my love of flowers, which has consistently been a theme in my art over the years. I'm constantly inspired by the beauty of nature, and endeavour to capture a part of that in my work.
My Practice
While having worked across a number of different art mediums over the years I currently divide my time between watercolour and acrylic painting. I love the way watercolour flows, and how the layers come together. With acrylics the process is often faster and more forgiving.
From music and teaching to full time art
Until now my art career has taken somewhat of a back seat to other careers and demands. These have included; violinist, orchestral musician, conductor, Mother of four children and Secondary Art and Music Teacher. I now have the luxury and privilege of being able to focus on my art full time.
